Here’s what we know of the forthcoming album so far

Yesterday (12 April), the Hollywood noir singer shared the album cover on the internet.

On 29 March, the singer-songwriter revealed the album name – Lust For Life – on Facebook and dropped a black-and-white teaser.

The two-minute clip features Del Rey’s narration over a series of camp, witchy visuals whereby the singer is isolated in a room watching the world from a window, and a spinning hologram of the globe in her hands.

Watch the ghostly video, with Del Rey’s message below.

The singer explains that she’s taking her time to complete the album: “Truthfully, when I’m in the middle of making a record, especially now when the world is in the middle of such tumultuous period, I find I really need to take this space for myself far away to real life to consider what my contribution to the world should be in these dark times.”

She also sends a message of hope for her fans: “Even if these times can feel a little crazy, they’re not so very different from what other generations have experienced at one time or another before. Amidst all the uncertainty and as we transition out of one era into another one, there’s no place I’d rather be than smack dab in the middle of Hollyweird making this record for you.”

It’s also worth taking note of the appearance of The Weeknd’s ‘XO’ logo, suggesting that the two may be collaborating for the album.

The release date for Lust For Life is yet to be announced with Del Rey previously stating that it’ll be “coming soon”. You can, however, watch the video for Love below.
