Directed by the Safdie brothers, the crime thriller starring Robert Pattinson is slated for release in August
Earlier this year, Iggy Pop revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that he was working on “something for a movie called Good Time, by the Safdie brothers, by an electronic producer with an unpronounceable name [Oneohtrix Point Never, a.k.a. Daniel Lopatin]. They asked me to write for that. I had a ball doing that – it was challenging musically”.
Now, the collaborative track makes its debut in a new trailer released today (16 May). Set in New York, Good Time tells the story of protagonist Constantine ‘Connie’ Nikas – played by Robert Pattinson – trying to get his incarcerated brother out of prison after a bank robbery falls through. Iggy Pop is no stranger to the film industry as he’s previously been featured in Terrence Malick’s 2017 drama Song To Song.
In other recent news, David Byrne revealed in a Reddit thread that he’s linked up with Lopatin for his new solo album, saying, “Last week I wrote words and a melody over a track that Daniel Lopatin sent me.”
