One of the most hotly tipped producers to come out of Helsinki, 23-year-old Kasper Granroth kicked things up a gear with 2016’s Cloudy EP – a experiment in hybridised, inventive bass music that felt fresh and unashamedly pop. Now, with 2017 lining up to be a breakthrough year, we’re excited to have the exclusive premiere of his brand new track Modern Daze.
The track melds a low slung, hip-hop beat with glossy, HD synths, updating mid-oughts maximalism with a distinctly laid-back touch. “My new record is an audio-visual expression of the enjoyable and blurry state of mind that we all experience at some point in our lives,” explains Granroth. “The instrumental track is based on the synth lead – which is surrounded by electronic and organic instruments that combine somewhere between melodic house and RnB and hip-hop beats. I was stoked to have my good friends from the Helsinki based production company VeliCreative on board to the visual side.”
