Arcade Fire premiere Everything Now on BBC Radio 1

Arcade Fire are back

Tonight (1 June), MistaJam unveiled the brand new Arcade Fire track Everything Now on his BBC Radio 1 show. Previously only available at a merch stall at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival, the single shepherds the band’s most melodic, poppy impulses with an anthemic chorus that runs, “Stop pretending, you’ve got everything now“.

Speaking on the phone to MistaJam, Win Butler said of the song’s meaning: “I feel like culturally this era we’ve entered into – an ‘everything nowness’ – there’s a positive and negative side of it, but it’s a new way of being.”

Throughout the day Arcade Fire’s website has directed a new site featuring a live stream video claiming to be ‘Live from Death Valley’. Yesterday, the band tweeted an update, telling fans to “Stay tuned for Infinite Content”. Since, fans have been speculating that the ten symbols on the new merchandise could allude to ten songs on a new album, possibly titled Infinite Content.

The show will be available via iPlayer soon.

Update: the show is now available via iPlayer.
