The collaborative event will be held at Mantra Warehouse on 2 July
The Meat Free DJ crew – made up of Alice Woods, Lucy Ironmonger, Tasha Carter and Steffi Allatt – have teamed up with High Hoops to host a fundraiser rave in response to the Manchester Arena attack. It’ll be held at Mantra Warehouse’s outdoor courtyard, and those who’ve been confirmed for the decks are Cleric, Medlar, Stephanie Sykes, John Heckle and DJ October. There’ll also be live sets from Legowelt and Space Dimension Controller. The crew have stated that “every penny of profit will go towards the attack appeal”.
Via a press statement, the organisers have said, “In the days and weeks after the attack at Manchester Arena, Manchester proved more than anything it’s resilience – through community and creativity the city came together. We, like many others wanted to do anything we could to help so we’ve done the only thing we know how and organised a rave to raise funds for the appeal.”
A suicide bomber detonated a device after an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, on 22 May. The attack left 22 dead and countless injured. Recently, Ariana Grande held a benefit concert for the Manchester victims.
