Omar Souleyman, Leftfield, John Maus and more join Simple Things line-up

The full line-up for Bristol’s Simple Things Festival has been announced today

For seven editions, Bristol’s Simple Things Festival has built a reputation for its diverse, boundary-pushing line-ups and this year’s festival just got even more compelling.

Among the wave of new names added to the line-up are two new headliners: electronic music grandees Leftfield will be playing their iconic 1995 record Leftism in its entirety. Joining them at the top of the bill are Mercury nominated Wild Beasts who, since 2002, have been refining their theatrical art-rock, a sound which remains unparalleled in the landscape of contemporary British guitar music.

Syrian electronic artist and recent Crack cover star Omar Souleyman will be bringing his storied live show to Bristol fresh from his Crack Magazine cover interview. Also new to the line-up are Austin lo-fi pop explorer John Maus and Kahn & Neek, Bristol’s foremost purveyors of grime and bass deconstructions.

Other new additions include Warp Records-affiliated duo patten, Brooklyn producer Ó, thrilling experimental artist Klein, the visceral D.C. punk band Priests, bedroom producer Japanese Breakfast, pop provocateurs HMLTD, Sub Pop’s Downtown Boys and Insecure Men, the side-project of Fat White Family’s Saul Adamczewksi.

Elsewhere, DIY Glasgow band Spinning Coin, Sonic Cathedral signees The Early Years have been confirmed, alongside other hotly-tipped acts including Don Loudo, Boy Azooga and Coco & The Nutmilk.

Like previous years, the festival will be showcasing some of Bristol’s most exciting selectors and promoters, including Dave Harvey & Christophe, Studio 89, Strange Frequency, Musu and Shapes.

These acts will join the previously announced Metronomy, Daphni, Clark, Juan Atkins, Shackleton, Nadine Shah, Jlin and many more.

Simple Things takes place 20-21 October across multiple venues across Bristol. For more info and full line-up, head to the Simple Things website. You can buy tickets here.
