Two dead, four injured in Konstanz nightclub shooting

The shooting occurred at the Grey club in the German city Konstanz

At 4.30am (CEST) this morning (30 July) a gunman opened fire at the Grey club in Konstanz, located in Max-Stromeyer-Strasse near the Swiss border. Special forces and a helicopter were deployed to determine whether the gunman acted alone or with accomplices.

The 34-year-old suspect suffered injuries during a police shootout and later died in hospital. One officer was injured during the incident and police say his wounds are not life-threatening.

One person was killed in the club and three have been left seriously injured.

The motive behind the attack currently remains unclear, though police have ruled out terrorism as the cause.
