Belief System is the follow-up to 2015’s Modern Warfare EPs
Special Request makes his return to Houndstooth with forthcoming full-length Belief System, his first release on the label since 2013’s Soul Music. The 23-track album was recorded over three years, drawing upon Paul Woolford’s tape archives which go back to 1993.
According to the press materials, Woolford has used these tapes as source material, over which he has built up “layers of atmospherics, modular work, contact microphone recordings of icebergs cracking, microtonal elements, and the introduction of stark soundtrack pieces borne out of Woolford’s work in sound design”.
Belief System is the follow-up to 2015’s Modern Warfare EPs. You can view a teaser video via the player above or listen to lead track, Adel Craig Microdot, below. The LP is due for release on 13 October on gatefold vinyl, digital and CD.
