Björk’s new album finally has a title

Bjork for Crack Magazine by Felipe Santiago

The details surrounding her latest album have been revealed

In a Facebook Live video with Nowness that streamed today (15 September), Björk revealed that the title of her new album is Utopia. The follow-up to 2015’s Vulnicura is due out in November via One Little Indian Records.

“I think it’s going to be called Utopia. I can’t think of anything better,” she said.

Upon being questioned on whether the title was official, she answered, “Well if I change my mind five minutes before the LP cover goes into print – that might happen.”

Unlike Vulnicura, which she likens to “hell” and “divorce”, Utopia will be based on the idea of “paradise”.

“This is like my Tinder album,” she told Dazed last month. “It’s about that search (for utopia) – and about being in love. Spending time with a person you enjoy is when the dream becomes real.”

The album will include her latest single The Gate, which was released today.
