Watch the video for Israeli singer Autarkic’s track Warmth (How Mean Is Mean)

We’re excited to be premiering a brand new video from Autarkic – a Tel Aviv-based artist who recently released his debut album on Moscoman’s Disco Halal imprint.

The record was a deeply personal exploration of heartache and loss – delivered through a loosely electronic lens which Autarkic had refined through performances at some of the world’s most renowned clubs and festivals. This track, Warmth (How Mean Is Mean) comes at the end of the recording – delivering a understated calm at the crescendo of the story.

Directed by Natalie Feldesman, this visual accompaniment captures the narrative threads of the album perfectly. With cinematography by photographer and artist Fima Shlick, the story is told through beautifully composed shots and mesmerising capturings of the mundane.

Merging the abstract and the deeply human, Autarkic’s half-muffled vocals add to the slow, burning build of the ambient instrumentation. Watch the video in full on the player above and listen to the track in the context of the full album here.
