He ended his set with a Gaslamp Killer song
Last week, Twitter user @chelseaelaynne accused The Gaslamp Killer of drugging and raping her, along with her friend RaeAn, in 2013. She said, “The Gaslamp Killer drugged my best friend and myself at a party at the Standard Hotel, had non-consensual sex with both of us while we were completely incapacitated, and then dumped us back in front of the standard after it happened.”
Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder issued a statement online distancing themselves from the producer, and reiterated that the imprint hasn’t released any material from the artist in over five years. The artist is not currently signed to the label. The label stated: “Brainfeeder has always been a safe, inclusive space for artists of all types and we do not condone assault in any shape or form.”
However, Steven Ellison (aka Flying Lotus) appeared to back the former Brainfeeder associate during his set at Hollywood Cemetery Forever, on Saturday (14 October).
After performing a Gaslamp Killer track, he told the audience, “The internet is a fuckin’ liar. Ain’t nobody judge and jury but the fuckin’ law, okay?”
He added, “Thank you guys so much for coming, let truth and justice have its day.”

Been going to #FlyingLotus shows for almost a decade—horrible to see him end such a pinnacle set by straight-up calling a rape victim a liar https://t.co/FRchdZL0UM

Everyone thought @flyinglotus was just giving a sentimental speech to end epic set. But it was all just a lead-up to this awful rape defense

Then just show over. “Let justice prevail” then mic drop, everyone go home. We were all totally shocked, couldn’t believe what was happening

To prove this isn’t a misunderstanding, he literally put on a Gaslamp Killer song at the end
