The Manchester venue, located inside Wellington House on Pollard Street East, has announced that they’ve been denied permission to host a permanent events space.
The news comes via a Facebook post, in which the venue’s organisers detail how the Northern Group development company, who own Wellington House, have objected to the music venue space. According to Mantra Warehouse, it undermines Northern Group’s plans for future redevelopment.
The post reads: “Gutted to be announcing that the venue is now not going to be happening. We are going to be selling the sound systems and hiring out parts of the club as office space.”
However, the venue will still be hosting events until a new location has been found. They said, “We are however planning to continue using the main room and second rooms of the warehouse for a designated 30 x 500 capacity events a year until we can figure out a new location!”
