Hot off another successful edition of Bristol’s Simple Things Festival, the organisation has now outlined their upcoming winter shows.
Coming to Bristol’s Colston Hall on 3 February is Scottish post-rock outfit Mogwai, who’ve recently released their ninth studio album Every Country’s Sun – their first since 2014’s Rave Tapes. Following the Glaswegian band is Fatima Yamaha on 7 February, at The Marble Factory. Earlier this year, the artist released the three-track EP Araya via Dekmantel.
The last newly announced show is the Mercury Prize-nominated Manchester trio GoGo Penguin, who’ll be taking over the city’s Trinity Centre on 9 February with their blend of hard-hitting jazz and electronica.
The last edition of Simple Things Festival took place on 21 October. Leftfield performed the entirety of their seminal 1995 album Leftism, Wild Beasts played one of their last farewell shows, IDLES returned to the city with an incendiary homecoming performance and former Crack cover star Omar Souleyman took over Colston Hall’s foyer, greeted by an eager, full crowd.
