Former Crack cover star Dave has been revealed as the Best Newcomer at the MOBO Awards tonight (29 November).
The news was announced by actor and comedian Richard Blackwood at the ceremony. The South London artist wasn’t in attendance and didn’t make an acceptance speech.
Since the release of his 2016 EP Six Paths, Dave has experienced a rapid ascent in the industry with Drake spotlighting the Streatham-born rapper through remixing his track Wanna Know. Earlier this year, Dave made his TV debut on Later… with Jools Holland.
Other nominees for Best Newcomer included Jorja Smith, Kojo Funds, Stefflon Don, Mist and Mabel.
