Stormzy takes home the prize for Best Album at tonight’s MOBO Awards (29 November).
The grime MC released Gang Signs & Prayer via his label #Merky Records in February. Upon its release, it received widespread acclaim and at Crack, we called it “a monumental moment for UK music”.
Taking place in Leeds, tonight marks the 22nd annual edition of the awards ceremony. Stormzy was up against J Hus, Nines, Sampha and Wretch 32 for Best Album. The MC led the nominations with six nods to his name, and was also announced as MOBO Awards’ Best Grime Act and Best Male Act.
Other winners across the night include Dave for Best Newcomer and J Hus for Best Song with his hit single Did You See.
