Matthew Herbert’s Brexit Big Band makes it into ‘Private Eye’

Matthew Herbert has tweeted an image today (30 November) of the inclusion of his project, Brexit Big Band, in Private Eye Magazine.

The rising popularity of Brexit Big Band has been highlighted in the magazine’s news section.

Earlier this month (November), the Daily Mail asked why the project was being funded by the Department of Trade when it holds a pro-EU stance. As noted by Private Eye, the project “exists to celebrate collaboration across frontiers” and “incorporates the ritual tearing up of copies of the Mail“. They now plan to burn the publication as well as shredding it on stage.

Herbert has previously posted a statement saying, “This is a project that, having accepted Brexit will occur, attempts to work out what a new kind of relationship with our European neighbours may look like.”
