Ricardo Villalobos to release new EP of Beaver Sheppard remixes

Ricardo Villalobos

The Chilean-born techno veteran has announced a new EP featuring two remixes of Montreal artist Beaver Sheppard’s track Tornado Brain.

Entitled Tornado Brain (Villalobos Remixes), the release will land on Villalobos’ vinyl-only label Sei Es Drum on 13 November.

Sheppard has self-described his sound as lo-fi songs on the guitar with “pieces of drum kit lying around”. The two have collaborated before on the EP MDRNTY002, released under Villalobos’ moniker Richard Wolfsdorf. Sheppard’s last full-length album was 2011’s Living With Women And Cars.

This year, the techno icon dropped the solo album Empirical House in May, and featured on Perlon’s Superlongevity Six compilation. He also teamed up with Chez Damier and and Ben Vedren for Perlon’s first release of 2017, entitled Perlon113. As for reworks, Villalobos premiered a remix of experimental artist Samuel Rohrer’s track Lenina via Crack Magazine in May.
