The central goal of Laraaji’s life and work is to spread joy.
As we learned when we had an eye-opening conversation with new age ambient pioneer earlier this year, he’s devoted his creative life to instilling a feeling of jubilation in his audience. Years ago he was a stand-up comedian, now he’s a world-renowned artist and spiritual leader for various meditation practises including laughter meditation.
In this video for Sungong & Bring On The Sun, Laraaji traverses New York City distributing celestial gong tones, hypnotic melodic phrases and beams of energy.
All Saints Records commissioned directorial duo Jake Moore and Oliver Rivard to make the film which covers Central Park, Laraaji’s own Harlem apartment building and High Bridge.
Laraaji described the experience of shooting as “like being on an outdoor action movie set, following and trusting the director’s vision, all the time enjoying the wonderful sunny daylight.”
