New techno festival 5001 makes first artist announcement

5001 will head to Germany’s Honecker-Bunker on 17-19 August.

The new three-day event has revealed the first wave of acts for its inaugural edition. With an emphasis on hosting locals and newcomers in a post-apocalyptic setting, 5001 has confirmed Paris’ Concrete regular Francois X, founder of Key Vinyl Freddy K, Ostgut Ton label manager Jenus, Shlømo, Stephanie Sykes and more for the line-up.

The festival’s location is a Cold War related site and was once a top-secret bunker, later discovered after the fall of the Berlin wall. Currently, the unique setting stands as an abandoned three-storey structure situated in a forest north of Berlin.
