The full list of Brit Award nominations are now in.
2017 was a breakthrough year for Stormzy with the release of his critically acclaimed debut Gang Signs & Prayer. Now, he’s been given two nods for British Male Solo Artist and Mastercard British Album of the Year. For the latter, he’ll go head-to-head with J Hus, whose album, Common Sense, has also been chosen.
At the Brits Nominations Show for 2018, J Hus performed his Afrobeat-flavoured summer hit Did You See, which has been given a nod for British Single. Furthermore, the artist has scored a third nomination for British Breakthrough Act, for which he’ll go head-to-head with Sampha and former Crack cover star Dave.
Kendrick Lamar is to compete with Drake for International Male Solo Artist, and Björk is among the list of nominees for International Female Solo Artist. Another notable highlight is International Group, which includes nominees LCD Soundsystem – who made their triumphant comeback last year with the LP American Dream.
The awards ceremony will take place at London’s O2 Arena on 21 February. It’ll be broadcast on ITV and we’ll be reporting the event live on the night.
Stormzy and J Hus have both responded to their nominations. Check out their tweets below.
