LA outfit Girlpool have collaborated with Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes for Picturesong, released via the duo’s Soundcloud.
According to a press statement on Pitchfork, Girlpool said, “Picturesong is a word invented to explore what we create in each other when we want to feel deep love because of loneliness or otherwise, and brings into question the reality and delusion of the things we feel.”
Hynes added, “I’m such a fan of Girlpool, and loved working with them. Their harmonies are some of my favourites that are out there.”
Last year, Girlpool released the album Powerplant via ANTI- Records. Blood Orange’s last full-length was 2016’s Freetown Sound. In September, Hynes dropped the slow-burning track BOWERYLDN EDIT 6 15 SEPTEMBER, and later revealed that a new album, addressing his childhood in England, was “78% done”.
