Lotic announces debut album Power

The Berlin-based producer will release their long-awaited debut this summer.

Lotic has unveiled details of their debut full-length. Entitled Power, the LP will be released via Tri Angle Records on 13 July. Featuring 11 tracks, the Houston-born producer has claimed that Power originally started as an empowerment album” and is a “healing moment” following a period of upheaval in which they lost their apartment.

The record is also, according to the press release, ”grounded by Lotic’s love of Texan marching bands” and was partially inspired by Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Between the World and Me.

You can listen to Hunted, the first track to be shared from the album, via Soundcloud below.

The album follows two well-received EPs released back in 2015. The Tri Angle-signed Heterocetera and Agitations, which was released on Janus – the Berlin label and collective of which Lotic is a founding member.
