Watch a digital version of SOPHIE contort in the new video for Faceshopping

The PC Music affiliate has shared a new video for the track Faceshopping, featuring a computer-generated version of the artist stretching and inflating with a rubber band elasticity.

Slogans and web images stating ‘artificial bloom’ and ‘I’m not a robot’ flash across the four-minute visual, directed by SOPHIE and Aaron Chan.

In an interview with Voguethe British producer said, “It’s about the emphasised idea that if you’re showing more face, you’re somehow being more real. But of course, there is a flip side to that, where you have false identities or different projections of yourself that you’re able to cultivate through your image.”

“The contradictions inherent in that, and of course the idea of plastic surgery and prosthetics, is where that point of what’s real and what’s ungenuine falls, and I think there is a lot of confusion at the moment around that, particularly in music culture.”

Earlier today, the artist revealed in an online post that her upcoming debut album has been finished. Her post stated: “My album (not called Whole New World) is finished so hopefully they can get it out soon with minimal faff.”

Recently, SOPHIE made her live London debut at Heaven, and modelled for Eckhaus Latta’s AW18 show.
