Alice Glass to be reimbursed legal fees from Ethan Kath

Alice Glass has revealed that Ethan Kath’s lawsuit has been denied again, and the court has granted her request for Kath to pay the reimbursement of her legal fees.

Last October, Glass released a statement on her website detailing years of alleged rape and abuse from the former bandmate. “He forced me to have sex with him or, he said, I wouldn’t be allowed to be in the band anymore,” she said. In response, Kath denied the allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit against Glass.

In February, the suit was dismissed and Vicki Greco, Glass’ lawyer, returned to seek a reimbursement of legal fees on behalf of Glass. The former Crystal Castles vocalist was asking for $20,000.

Now, according to Glass, Kath’s appeal to overturn the court’s decision has been denied and her request for a reimbursement has been granted. Glass stated on Twitter, “oh and the bullshit lawsuit by my former bandmate was once again denied in his appeal attempt today. now he owes us legal fees”.

She added, “heres the official from my lawyer for those who speak legal stuff.. ‘The court denied his request to vacate the judgment that dismissed his lawsuit. The judgment remains in our favor. The court also granted our request for attorney’s fees and costs’ ..so he lost and owes me $$”.

In a conversation with Zola Jesus earlier this year, Glass said, “All the women who have found the courage to come forward are inspiring. I really wanted to be a part of that conversation. Abuse lives in silence, and I don’t want to be a part of that silence anymore.” She added, “From my fans and other people who have reached out, it’s been way more positive than I would have anticipated.” In January, Glass released the track Cease and Desist, a “call to arms for all survivors”.
