Body confirmed as Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison

A body discovered on the banks of the Forth of Firth has been confirmed as the lead singer of Frightened Rabbit.

The body was found at Port Edgar on Thursday (10 May) at approximately 8.30pm (BST). The 36-year-old vocalist was reported to be missing by his family.

Hutchison was last seen at Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry on Wednesday (9 May) at 1am (BST). CCTV footage shows him leaving the site. On Tuesday night (8 May), at 11.09pm (BST), he tweeted: “I’m away now. Thanks.” Two hours earlier, he said online: “Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones.”

Frightened Rabbit had tweeted a statement appealing for information: “We are worried about Scott, who has been missing for a little while now. He may be in a fragile state and may not be making the best decisions for himself right now. Please could Scott or anyone with any information on his whereabouts please contact Police Scotland (101).”

Frightened Rabbit are a Scottish band from Selkirk. They first formed in 2003, and have released six albums together. Hutchison was also the lead vocalist of the band Mastersystem, who released their debut album Dance Music last month.
