Jimothy Lacoste releases new merch quoting Transport for London

The viral YouTube rapper will be dropping a new collection of merch this Wednesday (13 June).

Sharing images of two soon-to-be-released t-shirts, the first quotes TfL’s letter to Lacoste chastising the artist for engaging in “dangerous” activities in his now-removed video Subway System. The caption on Lacoste’s post simple reads: “Dropping Wednesday. #TflUrSilly”

In March, Lacoste released Subway System on YouTube, featuring him riding a bike along the platform of the London Underground and standing on the roof of a train. Last month, the streaming platformed removed the video following complaints from TfL. According to TfL, the video violated their safety regulations and a permit is required to film the underground – which Lacoste didn’t obtain.

A letter from TfL stated: “I have viewed the video for Subway System, currently on YouTube, most of which was shot in and on TfL’s railway. We didn’t authorise this. It shows various dangerous and/or antisocial activities which contravene TfL Byelaws”.

“We take the safety of users of the TfL network extremely seriously. Some of the behaviour in the YouTube footage was dangerous and stupid in itself”.
