WeTransfer releases documentary exploring the creative dynamic of 88rising

WeTransfer has shared the second episode of their Work in Progress series.

The documentary series features short videos discussing creative collaborations. In their latest episode, they explore the collaborative process behind 88rising: a company founded by Sean Miyashiro, which he describes as a “hybrid management, record label, video production and marketing company”. Central to the documentary is an interview with Miyashiro.

With acts such as Rich Brian, Higher Brothers, Keith Ape and NIKI on board, 88rising has been instrumental in spotlighting Asian hip-hop artists.

“With Episode 2 of Work In Progress, we continue our exploration into collaboration in music, in all its wonderful forms. 88rising is such a compelling team to highlight, because they can’t be easily contained to one genre, category, or even continent,” said Jamal Dauda, Global Head of Music WeTransfer. “Their seemingly disparate, totally cohesive partnership feels emblematic of how technology, innovation, and passion have unified us all in the global musical landscape of 2018. Its the type of connectivity and transfer of ideas we’re beyond fortunate to celebrate at WeTransfer.”

The second episode follows up from a visual unpacking the creative chemistry between Björk and Jesse Kanda. Watch the documentary here.
