The former Crack Magazine cover star has released the first single from his forthcoming album Negro Swan.
Entitled Charcoal Baby, it comes accompanied by a split-screen visual directed by Crack Stevens. The five-minute video walks through various scenes of performances, parties and styled portraits of individual characters.
Negro Swan is set to be released on 24 August via Domino, and will serve as the follow-up to 2016’s Freetown Sound. The artist has previously explained via a press release, “My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of colour.”
The album will be made available as a digital release, and as a limited edition deluxe package with two gold vinyls.
