It actually works.
In celebration of the Champagne Papi’s fifth album, Scorpion, Spotify launched its first ever artist takeover – called Scorpion SZN – and made Drake the face of every Spotify playlist.
There’s a @Drake for practically every mood. #ScorpionSZN is here. Listen now on Spotify 🦂https://t.co/Gfa32R9WN1 pic.twitter.com/p1qbGsac88

However, the Drizzy promotion didn’t appear to go down too well with its premium users, who pay for ad-free subscriptions. Reddit user Schwagschwag claimed he successfully received a refund after complaining to customer services, and a transcript of an online chat between a paying customer and Spotify advisor has been posted online.
It reads: “Sorry to hear that you’re seeing a lot of Drake’s content on your Spotify app. We’re fully aware of this situation and sincere apologies if you have to experience this.” You can view the transcript here to see how to get yourself a refund.
Scorpion broke records with 302 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music in 24 hours. It also smashed the one-week streaming records over the course of three days. The double album includes the hits God’s Plan, Nice for What and I’m Upset.
