Fever Ray has cancelled her forthcoming autumn shows.

The Plunge artist, otherwise known as Karin Dreijer, has posted a statement online, citing anxiety as the reason for the cancellation of her tour. “For seven years I did not enter the stage, for five years I did not enter an airplane,” she writes. “It is a disorder that always lurks in the shadows that I have had to work carefully with and around, and that I never really know when it will strike or how much it will affect me.”

“The last month though has been rough and my anxiety has started to escalate,” she continues. “I will now have to take a break from touring to take care of myself and restore my health.”

Last year Dreijer released her second Fever Ray album, Plunge, via Rabid Records. This year has seen her embark upon a world tour in support of the album, including shows in the UK, Europe and USA. Her forthcoming shows were originally scheduled for Germany, London and Manchester, France, the Netherlands and Iceland.
