New Japanese festival Mazeum to launch in Kyoto this November

A new festival showcasing the Japanese underground scene is set to make its debut in Kyoto on 30 November to 1 December.

Mazeum will be staging its inaugural edition next month, spotlighting Japanese artists alongside international acts. Those announced for the line-up are DJ Nobu, Moor Mother, Sarah Davachi, Goat and Osaka DJ Yousuke Yukimatsu. Throat singer and performance artist Fuyuki Yamakawa joins the programme, along with pianist Dairo Suga, Kukangendai, Kazumichi Komatsu and more.

The event will be spread across various venues in the heart of the city, including the three temples Gokuraku-ji, Senganji and Hōnen-in.
