Thom Yorke shares another track from Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria

The Radiohead frontman has shared yet another track from his upcoming score to the Suspiria remake.

Volk is the third piece of music to be taken from the film, itself released 26 October, following Suspirium and Has Ended

The Suspiria soundtrack marks Thom Yorke’s first foray into film composing. The film itself will be directed by Luca Guadagnino, whose last film was 2017’s Call Me by Your Name.

The original Suspiria was directed by Italian director Dario Argento and featured an accompanying soundtrack – now considered a classic – by Goblin. According to an interview given to The Hollywood Reporter, Yorke was originally hesitant to work on the remake; “Suspiria is one of those legendary soundtracks. It took a few months to even contemplate the idea”.

In an interview with Billboard, Yorke said his music for the film is influenced by “modern electronic music like James Holden”, “musique concrete like Pierre Henry” and krautrock. You can hear the influence of the latter in the closing stretch of Volk.

Suspiria: Music for the Luca Guadagnino Film is released on 26 October via XL Recordings. Suspiria arrives in UK cinemas on 16 November.
