These New Puritans return with new track Into the Fire

After announcing they were poised to release new material, These New Puritans make their comeback with Into the Fire.

The group, which has reverted back to the original duo of Jack and George Barnett, began rolling out teasers on Tuesday (6 November) and shortly announced that they’d be debuting new material on BBC Radio 6 Music. Now, the track Into the Fire has been released online and it features contributions from Current 93’s David Tibet. The single will be made available as a limited edition 7″ single on 25 January 2019 via Infectious Music.

Furthermore, in an interview with The Faderthe group reveal that a new album is on the way. Drummer George Barnett called it “a banger” and described it as “both brutal and beautiful, a record of extremes”.

Into the Fire is the Southend band’s first new music since 2013’s Field of Reeds. The group’s last releases were in 2014, when they dropped the two-track EP Magnetic Field, comprised of outtakes from the recording sessions from Field of Reeds.
