A Dog Called Money will premiere in February 2019 at Berlin International Film Festival.

A new documentary, directed by Seamus Murphy, will give viewers insight into the creation of PJ Harvey’s 2016 album The Hope Six Demolition Project. Titled A Dog Called Money, the film is set to premiere at the Berlinale, opening on 7 February in the German capital.

The documentary features footage of Harvey recording the album in London and follows her on travels to Afghanistan, Kosovo and Washington DC. Speaking of the project in a statement, Murphy said: “Polly and I know and trust each other. Enough for her to travel with me to Afghanistan and other challenging places, and for me to believe she’d bring back magic.”

Describing what he witnessed of the recording process, he said: “She then invited me into a big white box behind one-way windows to film every moment of the recording of the songs she brought back. Individually and together, this is our response to what we encountered.”

Thus far, no film footage has emerged.
