The European initiative’s fifth chapter brings together 48 artists and musicians to participate in a programme of live performances, lectures and workshops.

Returning for a fifth year, SHAPE has announced the full line-up of interdisciplinary artists joining its 2019 roster. As with SHAPE 2018, the next line-up will be proudly gender-balanced, with half of the announced acts being women. Notable confirmed artists include Midland protégé Peach, Lisbon selector Violet, experimental Danish artist Astrid Sonne, WIDT with Christophe de Babalon, French Rinse FM host AZF and immersive installation artist Sally Golding.

SHAPE is a platform for innovative music and audiovisual art from across Europe. Initially formed as a three-year project, the success of its first editions secured four years’ worth of additional funding. Run each year by a union of 16 festivals and art centres – including Berlin’s CTM Festival and Krakow’s Unsound Festival – the initiative is dedicated to promoting emerging acts, interdisciplinary cooperation and creative experimentation.

From its first edition in 2015, SHAPE has developed a reputation for booking some of the most exciting emerging electronic acts. Previous line-ups have included Giant Swan, Nene H., JASSS, Amnesia Scanner, Danny L Harle, Anna Meredith, M.E.S.H, and Aïsha Devi.
