Aphex Twin to play first New York City show since the 90s

Aphex Twin

Richard D James has announced a rare performance.

Former Crack Magazine cover star Aphex Twin has announced that he will be playing a concert in NYC. His first New York date since the 1990s will take place at Avant Gardner, Brooklyn, on 11 April.

The news was revealed via a post on Aphex’s official Twitter account today (14 January), also indicating that ticket pre-sale opens at 10am (EST) on 16 January. The announcement comes after posters were spotted in the Brooklyn area bearing Aphex Twin’s distinctive logo superimposed onto an NYC map, alongside the date “04.11.19”. Similar advertisements were used before the musician’s Coachella sets, booked for 13 and 20 April respectively, were announced.

Shortly before his concert in Brooklyn, Aphex Twin will also play his first ever Mexico date at Toluca’s Ceremonia Festival on 6 April.
