Panda Bear has released a video for his latest single Token.
Directed by and featuring Dean Blunt, the video follows the elusive artist through a carnival at night. An introduction to the four-minute visual states: “When Dean got asked to do this video he was all good… he had plans to make something about Toy Story... then something about cowboys and cowgrrrls… then something about being a token, then something else… then he lost his f***ing mind.” [sic]
It continues, “So we decided to scrap all the stuff he had planned and try to make him have some fun and smile.” Watch the video for Token via the player above.
The new single is taken from Panda Bear’s forthcoming album Buoys, which is slated for release on 8 February via Domino.
It’s not the first time Blunt has directed a music video for another artist. In August 2017 he directed the visual for Actress’ track Falling Rizlas.
