Intonal announces first wave of acts for 2019 edition

The experimental music festival returns to Malmö from 24 to 28 April.

In true Intonal fashion, the billing thus far features artists working across a range of musical genres. Amongst the announced names are dancefloor-focused acts like Detroit electro pioneers Aux 88, Nyege Nyege affiliates MCZO & Duke, reggaeton and Caribbean futurism act Clara! y Maoupa, and Dutch eclecticist DJ Marcelle.

Other confirmed acts include contemporary music ensemble Apartment House, Pan Sonic’s Ilpo Väisänen, Burnt Friedman and Mohammad Reza Mortazavi’s collaborative project Yek, EBM trio Vanligt Folk and Moscow minimalist Kate NV and director Sasha Kulak.

The five-day festival aims to provide an international programme of experimental and electronic music, catering for the music lovers who are not afraid to stray from the beaten track. Eschewing music trends and sourcing its acts globally, Intonal hopes to provide festival-goers with a unique experience. Alongside a healthy music programme, there are a variety of installations, exhibitions and artist’s talks.

Early bird tickets are now available and are valued at 495 kr (£43).
