The jazz keyboardist has sparked rumours that he may be reprising Yussef Kamaal, his collaborative project with drummer Yussef Dayes.
Yesterday (14 January), Williams posted an Instagram video of him and Dayes jamming together. Whilst it’s unclear whether the video is new or recycled footage, the chosen caption hints that Yussef Kamaal may have reunited and could be working on the follow-up to their debut album Black Focus. The caption reads: “Yussef and Kamaal ….. Who wants Black Focus 2 ????????”
Despite the success of their first LP together, Yussel Kamaal disbanded in May 2017 to pursue solo projects. In a 2018 interview with Red Bull, Williams said, “One day we might play together again, but I support Yussef and what he does now.”
