Brixton’s brand new funk, soul and jazz festival will come to Brockwell Park on 9 June.

Cross the Tracks has announced the music programme for its inaugural edition this summer. The one-day festival will be headlined by 70s trailblazer Chaka Khan, with other confirmed acts including Motown’s Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. More contemporary acts include The Comet is Coming, the project of former Crack Magazine cover star Shabaka Hutchings, alongside jazz fusion rapper Masego, saxophonist Nubya Garcia, Ninja Tune signee Jordan Rakei and rising London talent Poppy Adjudha.

The festival will take place in south London’s Brockwell Park and will bring together international acts with the local talents soundtracking the city. The event will also host 40 of London’s best street food traders, alongside talks, workshops and an independent market with a record fair and work by local art traders.

Tickets, starting at £25, can be purchased here. Head to the Cross the Tracks website and Facebook page for further information.
