Watch the Memoji-themed video for Pauli the PSM’s Big Belly Flow

Pauli the PSM’s video for the new single Big Belly Flow (Push it Back) premieres today (28 February) on Crack Magazine.

London artist Pauli the PSM is something of a polymath. A drummer, artist and model with a CV that covers playing drums in Sampha’s band and collaborating on musical direction with FKA twigs, as well as other high profile projects with the likes of Jamie xx and Gorillaz. But it’s as an artist in his own right that he’s really started to create a buzz. In January 2019, he released his EP Secret Life of a Badman to critical acclaim and now, he follows up with the new track Big Belly Flow (Push it Back).

All bouncy rhythms and lyrics about getting down and sliding in the DMs, Pauli is an artist capable of tapping into technological trends. Directed by Rohan Blair-Mangat – who’s worked with the likes of Jay Z, Nas and Alexander Wang – and with graphics helmed by Virtual Super Land, the accompanying visual features a Memoji’d version of the London artist in various scenes. Cartoon graphics and Donald Trump on fire flit across the vertical video, the dimensions of which are optimised for Instagram Stories.

“This is the most fun I’ve had making music,” Pauli says. “Referencing some of my childhood heroes… Ian Wright, Hulk Hogan and Mark Morrison all get a shout out.”
