Bill Kouligas, Bad Bunny and Lil Uzi Vert among names added to Sónar 2019 line-up

Bad Bunny

The Barcelona festival adds a new cluster of names to the 2019 bill.

Heading up the third release is Puerto Rican trap and reggaeton star Bad Bunny and US rapper Lil Uzi Vert. Also joining Sónar Festival’s 2019 edition is PAN label boss Bill Kouligas, who will join a host of underground names on the SonarXS stage, along with new line-up additions Shiva Feshareki and Virgen Maria.

Elsewhere, iconic NYC DJs Louie Vega and Honey Dijon will DJ together for the first time, bringing proceedings to a close on Saturday (20 July) while The Matthew Herbert Brexit Big Band will close out the festival with a concert at the Teatre Grec on Sunday (21 July). The project was formed by producer Herbert as a response to the 2016 referendum result.

As always, there will be a strong presence of conceptual and experimental art performances at Sónar, with Neon Chambers (Kangding Ray and Sigha), Quiet Ensemble, Hamill Industries & Shelly and Japanese digital artist Daito Manabe all locked in to perform across the three-day festival.

They join the previously announced Arca, A$AP Rocky, Skepta, Vince Staples, Amelie Lens, Daphni, DJ Koze, Jlin, Actress + Young Paint, Holly Herndon, Deena Abdelwahed, Lotic and Bad Gyal, as well as the six-hour sets at SonarCar by Floating Points and Body & Soul and many more.

Altogether, the festival is set to host over 140 acts across nine stages of Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night. The festival’s 26th edition will be held at Fira Montjuïc de Barcelona and Gran Via de L’Hospitalet on 18-20 July.
