Beyoncé drops surprise Homecoming live album

Beyoncé has dropped a live album of her Coachella performance as her documentary arrives on Netflix.

Entitled Homecoming: The Live Album, the 40-track LP also features two new bonus tracks, including a cover of Frankie Beverly and Maze’s song Before I Let Go, and I Been On which originally appeared online in 2013 but has now been given an official release.

The album arrives hours after a section on her website began promoting a new album called Homecoming. At the time, the section linked to a broken web page. Furthermore, speculation of a new album began when fans noticed that Genius had listed B7 as a new Beyoncé LP with a release date of 18 April.

As for the star’s documentary, the Netflix exclusive delves into her preparations for her Coachella show, and takes a look at her personal life at home with her family.

A statement on Netflix reads: “Homecoming presents an intimate look at Beyoncé’s historic 2018 Coachella performance that paid homage to America’s historically black colleges and universities. Interspersed with candid footage and interviews detailing the preparation and powerful intent behind her vision, Homecoming traces the emotional road from creative concept to cultural movement.”
