Listen to two new Thom Yorke songs Don’t Fear the Light and Gawpers

Thom Yorke

Two new tracks by the Radiohead frontman were played on BBC Radio 3’s Unclassified programme.

Elizabeth Alker played two new songs by Thom Yorke over the weekend, including his first ever classical composition Don’t Fear the Light. First premiered at Philharmonie de Paris earlier this month in a concert called Minimalist Dream House, the piece is a three-part work composed for two pianos, electronics and modular synthesisers. Don’t Fear the Light plays at around the 27:30 mark here.

A live premiere of Yorke’s new solo track Gawpers was also aired on the programme, along with a performance of the song Suspirium, taken from his score for Luca Guadagnino’s remake of the film Suspiria.

Alongside Yorke, the Minimalist Dream House concert in Paris featured The National’s Bryce Dessner and new work by French composer David Chalmin. The recordings can be heard in Alker’s programme.
