Red Axes announce new EP Trips #2 Vietnam

Red Axes have announced the next instalment of their experimental Trips series.

After taking a trip across Africa and recording its local sounds for Trips #1 the duo, made up of Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik, head to Vietnam for their follow-up release. Entitled Trips #2 Vietnam, the four-track EP will land on 24 May via !K7 Records.

The announcement comes accompanied by a four-minute film featuring snippets of recording sessions, beach parties, incense rituals and communal dances in Vietnam – all of which have inspired the upcoming EP. According to the press release, the EP will include the sounds of a market square, layered with house grooves and jazz keys.

The duo’s Trips project combines music with film and travel. It sees the two musicians link up with local musicians across the world for a series of cross-cultural collaborations. During their travels, the pair have organised workshops in youth music schools.
