A new music festival is heading to various venues across Birkenhead this summer.

Developed by the team behind Bido Lito! Magazine, Future Yard is a new project that has emerged from a community initiative and is a part of Wirral Borough of Culture 2019 – a showcase of music and sports events across the year.

On 23-24 August, Future Yard is set to celebrate its inaugural edition with headliners Nilüfer Yanya and Bill Ryder-Jones. Mercy Prize-nominated artist Anna Calvi also joins the line-up, along with Stella Donnelly, Szun Waves, Charles Watson, Squid, Queen Zee, Bill Nickson, Dialect and more.

Aside from music, the two-day event will host a new installation across both days titled PYLON. The sound sculpture, exclusive to the festival, has been created by Forest Swords in partnership with The Kamizier at the 850-year-old Birkenhead Priory.

Venues across Birkenhead are set to be reimagined for the two-day extravaganza. Spaces include the Birkenhead Town Hall, the Bloom Building and Gallagher’s. Weekend wristbands are currently priced at £40, with day tickets on sale from £20.
