Mondriaan Jazz festival announces 2019 line-up

Mondriaan

The Dutch jazz festival has finalised an exciting roster for 2019.

Mondriaan Jazz Festival returns in October, and promises a billing of cutting-edge contemporary jazz. The final line-up features an international array of artists, including London singer Madison McFerrin, the avant-garde collective Art Ensemble of Chicago, plus cellist and singer/songwriter Ayanna Witter-Johnson. Daymé Arocena, Dutch trio Tin Men and the Telephone, and the UK based Tawiah also feature on the billing.

According to the festival’s website, Mondriaan promises a boundary-crossing and progressive showcase, exploring the future of jazz as a genre and movement. “Mondriaan Jazz is a voyage of discovery where unique collaborations take place, international debuts are made, and special new groups are curated.”

Mondriaan takes place on 12 October at PAARD and in Het Koorenhuis in The Hague (NL).
