Kraków’s Unsound festival has revealed a second wave of artists for its 2019 instalment.
Joining the likes of Eris Drew, Octo Octa and Holly Herndon are Deena Abdelwahed, Matmos, CCL, Teki Latex b2b Betty, and Félicia Atkinson as well as Shackleton, who is teaming up with acclaimed Polish clarinet-player Waclaw Zimpel for a world premiere of a new show.
Also appearing at Unsound 2019 will be Vladislav Delay who is presenting new material in a show called Raaka, with visuals prepared and performed live by AGF. Lingua Ignota and Dreamcrusher have also been announced, plus Anthony Pateras, who appears on the new Sunn O))) album, will present his solo electronic show This Ain’t My First Rodeo. They join the first wave of acts revealed in May, including Holly Herndon, Objekt, Moor Mother and Sunn O))).
The festival takes place from 6-13 October across various venues in the Polish city of Kraków. As well as the “eclectic late night parties” there will be discussions, workshops and film screenings. Tickets to all events will go on sale in late August, with Sunn O))) tickets and Forum Passes (giving admission to all three nights at the Hotel Forum venue) already on sale.
Unsound’s theme for 2019 is ‘Solidarity’. The festival aims to “emphasise notions of community that have been built – and continue to form – around the festival.” Last year‘s theme ‘Presence’ dealt with questions around our digital selves and the role of social media as a communal space.
