All-female collective Frauengedeck are celebrating their 4th birthday at Salon – Zur wilden Renate, Berlin on 12 July.
Frauengedeck, the all-female collective who have been working to boost female representation in electronic music, are celebrating their fourth anniversary this week. The party, happening on 12 July, will take over the four floors of Salon – Zur wilden Renate in Berlin with rooms dedicated to techno, electro and breaks, house tunes, and even 80s and 90s hip-hop.
ABOUT BLANK’s Barbara Hofmann, Ninja Tune’s Emika, and Frauengedeck’s Sabine Hoffmann will be soundtracking the birthday-bash. Also set to play are Bloody Mary, Sylvie Marks, DJ Freshfluke, Gabriella Vergilov and That Fucking Sara.
Frauengedeck was founded four years ago as a collective for female DJs, but welcomes all genders to come and party. The collective has been working to improve recognition for female DJs in the industry, and the event description states Frauengedeck’s ambition: “We are living in a new era, where more and more woman try to find satisfaction and love in music. They work hard to build up something and be a part of that tough business. Frauengedeck wants to support and present female DJs in their ambitions.”
