American rapper Kid Cudi has announced plans for a new album titled Entergalatic. The project will serve as the soundtrack to an upcoming animated Netflix show of the same name, which Cudi has written, produced, and will also star in. The Entergalatic LP will be out via Republic Records but a release date has not yet been revealed for the show or the album. The album will be Cudi’s first new release since 2016’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, it’s title comes from a song off his 2009 release Man on the Moon: The End of Day.

In a post on Twitter, Cudi stated “Entergalatic will be something you’ve never experienced. I promise it’ll be a fun ride.” He also suggested that both projects will arrive next year: “I know I year from now seems like forever but it’ll be here before u know it!”

The televisual accompaniment to the album will also take the name Entergalatic and according to a Netflix press release, the series will “follow a young man on his journey to discover love.” The Netflix-exclusive series also involves Black-ish creator Kenya Barris as an executive producer, along with Ian Edelman of How To Make It In America.

The news follows another recent announcement that Cudi will also star in Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino’s new HBO series We Are Who We Are.
